Ingredients:
- 5-6 large onions, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 stick unsalted butter (8 tbsp)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 6 cups beef broth
- 2 cups dry white wine
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Bread, preferably a baguette, sliced into croûtons

Instructions:
